Today I will be showing you our inquiry slide show. The subject in inquiry is Culture Club if you don't know what culture club is. Culture club is when you pick a country and then you learn about the country and lay it out on a slide show. Also we could pick to do it by yourself or in buddies and I chose to do it in buddies. We chose Australia because no one was doing it and it sounded fun to do. We had to dress up in Australian costume and made a national dish or food to bring in to the shared lunch. This is our slide show...

Cafe Day
On Thursday 1st of November our combined class held a Cafe day for last term's focus which was ‘Actions Speak Louder than Words'. Actions Speak Louder than words means don't just think about doing it, just do it. We decided to have a cafe day so elderly could come in and enjoy a cup of tea and some baking for free. Any ways into my writing...
Finally, the day is here, as I walked up the ramp the morning air swayed in my face. I entered the hall, table cloths hung from tables, an awesome display of photos stood out on the wall, food glanced into the people's eyes, while coffee smoked up in the kitchen.
Guest started arriving, butterflies went off in my stomach. I started thinking about the down things like cracking my voice when I sing or dropping coffee, when I should of been thinking about the good things. Performers show up. As the elderly enjoyed their food, kids from MLH ( Moana Learning Hub) showed their talents in the performances. A few moments later it turned up to be me and my friend Kohine's turn. We went up to the stage and quickly grabbed our ukuleles. Our song is called ‘Tiaho Maira’. First strum, my head went spinning crazy imagine everyone in the room staring into your soul. We sang nervously but at the same time with confidence.
Chaos died down as there were less dishes to wash and gather. We began to tidy up and take all the tables back to the class in the rain and the take the baking back to the staffroom. It was such a fun day getting to know the elderly and doing something for the community. Now it was over and back to the class we went.

Science fair for 2018
Hello again,
This is what me and my science buddy Kohine did for the Science fair. There were loads of people that competed but ,unfortunately our's didn't get through to the finals, it was fun making it though. The reason Kohine and I did this is because we both love sports and we wanted to know which ball is the easiest to shoot a hoop with. We found out that Kohine's guess was right and that was the basketball. We chose to use: Soccer Ball, Tiny ball, Netball and Basketball.

Quick write
Hello welcome back to my blog I will be sharing with you one of my new quick writes...
There was a lot of noise coming from the kitchen... cautiously I creeped to the fridge, I quickly slammed the fridge door shut and...
''I'm telling on you!'' I screamed from the top of my lungs. I swear I probably woke up the whole town.
"Nothing!" she nervously shot back. Chocolate covered her mouth... My chocolate.
''Mum! Waelyn's eating my chocolate!''
I had a smug look on my face. The look that will get her in trouble.

Quick write
Hello again,It has been a while since I have posted another blog post so today I will be sharing with you one of my favourite quick writes I have done... we are given the sentence starter and we have to carry it on.
The light filtered through the trees as... Birds sung away. Trenching down on to the sand, waves crashed up on to the beach, as the afternoon air blew in my face. Step by step it felt like paradise. The sun glistened on the waves bouncing back into my eyes. Palm trees covered over me like skyscrapers. The sand felt like little sprinkles invading over my feet. The water slowly washed up on my feet, washing the sand off.

Kawa of Care

Kawa of Care Today we learnt about Kawa of Care. We learnt about chromebook responsibility and being cybersmart. We had to make this poster so the teacher know that we understand what kawa of care is and so we can explain to younger children what Kawa of Care is and so they know how to look after their chromebooks properly.

How my week goes at School!
Lately my collaborative class have been using a digital timetable, every week we fill in what we will be doing throughout the week. For an example where we have to be at the right place and at right time and the right day. We will only fill in Monday to Thursday. Fridays we will be in our original classes.
Every Sunday night we will get an email from our teacher, we will click into the email. In the email there will be a form that will be filled in with different workshops like Maths, Writing, Science, PE and Te Reo.
We will choose a suitable workshops that will help us with our learning and fill them in to our timetable, we will choose 1/2 workshop for each learning area. We also add links to learning activities into the blank squares in our timetable. Links to learning activities are Basic facts challenges, listen to reading, read to self, inquiry, workshop activities and more. We will find links to learning on the Moana Learning Hub (The Moana Learning Hub is a website anyone can access onto, and that is where we will find our timetable.) I like this digital timetable because we can choose activities to do.
